New! Competition Prep Teams at VCA
This month, Varsity Cheerleading Academy started a new Spring session for both Cheer and Cheer Dance with some exciting changes! In addition to our fabulous Recreational Teams in Cheer and Cheer Dance, VCA began a brand new program of Competition Prep teams!
The goal of the Competition Prep teams is to start preparing our athletes at VCA to be able to compete at the local, national, and international levels. Varsity is excited to be able to provide another opportunity for our athletes achieve their full potential.
The cheerleaders and dancers in Competition Prep were selected by an audition process and have committed to meeting with their team once a week for practice as well as participating in various classes throughout the week. The teams will be able to improve their skills together, perfect choreographed routines, support each other’s progress as athletes, and develop as a group with team building. They also have the chance to perform in front of live audiences multiple times in the upcoming months.
Even though the Spring session has just begun, all six Competition Prep teams have already successfully completed their first performance at Happy Valley mall this past Tuesday. Each team performed a routine for their friends and family in attendance. People passing by in the mall even stopped to watch and cheer on Varsity’s athletes! Congratulations to the teams on their excellent performances!
This week on Thursday, March 17, the teams will be performing at the Canton Tower for a special St. Patrick’s Day celebration!
The six new Competition Prep Teams are:
Baboons – Mini Cheer Dance Competition Prep
Eagles – Mini Cheer Competition prep
Elephants – Junior Cheer Dance Competition Prep
Pythons – Senior Hip Hop Competition Prep
Leopards – Senior Cheer Dance Competition Prep
Tigers – Junior/Senior Cheer Competition Prep
