 The Keys to Fitness

Looking to get fit this upcoming season? We can help! Maintaining physical fitness is a very important component to becoming a great athlete. Here are some key things to remember while reaching your fitness goals.

Nutrition - What you put into your body is extremely important when working on your fitness. Dieting doesn’t necessarily mean starving yourself or only eating the meals advertised as “healthy options.” It’s more important to be mindful of what you’re eating and how much. When you are craving a sugary late night snack, consider eating a fruit smoothie or yogurt to cure that late night sweet tooth that always comes along.

Exercise - There are so many ways to exercise, so find out what works for you! It could be going to the gym and working out, or taking time to jog or ride a bike. Yoga, Pilates, dance, and other group fitness classes offer structure and exercise in a fun, encouraging setting.

Planning - Workouts are easier accomplished when they are planned out. Plan out what exercises to do, how many repetitions you will perform, what days are work out days, and also plan out your meals and portions. Don’t forget to plan days to rest as well.

Motivation - What is your goal? Why do you want to achieve it? Make practical, attainable goals for your fitness. These can be small, short-term goals or large, long-term goals. Reward yourself for reaching these goals, you deserve it!

Consistency - Make it fun! When it’s something you enjoy, you’ll want to succeed. Always remind yourself, “I can do this!” Find a group of friends or co-workers to exercise and manage your diet with. It might not be easy at first, but once you get into a rhythm you’ll be noticing a difference in no time. Stay at it and never give up!
